James Darby is a self-taught English designer and bespoke tailor based in Manchester, with a focus on making small numbers of attire using locally sourced, luxury fabric, woven in our Lancashire and Yorkshire mills. At the age of fourteen, James started designing clothes, and from that taught himself to cut patterns and make garments. After a decade of working in high end men’s fashion stores, James opened his first tailoring shop producing bespoke attire. Over a period of two decades creating bespoke tailoring, James was constantly designing and when time was available would construct his designs to sell off the peg. James has stepped away from his shop to concentrate on creating his collection.

I was fortunate enough to have a coat made for me by James last winter. I can only describe it as a work of art and totally unique.
